Position Summary
Promotes TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) activities. Troubleshoots both tooling and machine problems, Investigates and resolves production line, quality, tooling, or machine design problems. Supervises, schedules and monitors the work of maintenance associates and orders capital equipment, trains maintenance associates and orders capital equipment when needed.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
- Supervises, Schedules and monitors the work of the maintenance crews to support assembly lines, plant facilities and grounds.
- Recommends equipment to reduce or eliminate safety concerns relative to repetitive motion.
- Works closely with both the Safety Manager and Training Manager.
- Coordinates maintenance work activity with manufacturing personnel to ensure line efficiencies.
- Schedules the repair of equipment, orders parts as needed.
- Trains associates in maintenance procedures and enforces safety procedures.
- Supervises the set-up and assembly of new manufacturing lines.
- Prepares work orders and reports as necessary.
- Plans, organizes and allocates department resources to meet department and company goals.
- Identifies and selects vendors from which to order equipment and recommends orders as necessary.
- Monitor and control the maintenance expenses within the budget.
- Assists and participates in the in-house Kaizen activities.
- Develops, maintains and implements the TPM plan
Qualifications:
SPECIALIZED TRAINING, SKILLS, ABILITIES, EXPERIENCE:
• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Engineering Technology or equivalent area, or a Journeyman’s card with relevant mechanical / electrical experience, required.
• 3 – 5 years of experience in an automotive manufacturing environment preferred.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems very beneficial.
• Knowledge SPC, Ergonomics, Safety, environmental law and building codes required.
• Computer literate in Windows, Excel, 7-I, MP2, or equivalent maintenance software knowledge preferred.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS / WORKING CONDITIONS:
• Factory environment with noise from manufacturing processes.
• Exposure to moving equipment, parts, and electric shock. Possible serious injury due to carelessness around equipment.
• On occasion lifts, carries, or moves objects weighing up to 50 pounds, daily up to 25 pounds.
