Description
The Residential Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a group home serving adults with developmental disabilities (IDD/DD). This role ensures compliance with DBHDD standards, supervises Direct Support Professionals (DSPs), and promotes a safe, respectful, and engaging environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise, coach, and develop DSP staff to ensure quality care
- Ensure implementation of Individual Service Plans (ISPs) and person-centered practices
- Maintain compliance with DBHDD, DHS, and organizational policies
- Oversee staff schedules, staffing coverage, and daily operations
- Monitor medication administration and health-related supports
- Ensure proper documentation, incident reporting, and data tracking
- Participate in ISP, IDT, and other interdisciplinary team meetings
- Support individuals with community integration and meaningful activities
- Utilize approved de-escalation and behavioral support techniques
- Maintain a safe, clean, and supportive residential environment
Requirements
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required (Bachelor’s preferred in Human Services, Psychology, Social Work, or related field)
- 2 years' experience in developmental disabilities, group home, or direct care
- 1 year of supervisory or leadership experience preferred
- Knowledge of person-centered care and ISP processes
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- CPR / First Aid
- Medication Administration
- De-escalation / Behavioral Intervention Training
- Must be 21 years or older
- Valid Driver’s License with acceptable MVR
- Ability to pass background check, drug screening, and TB test
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Reliable transportation
