Hospital Housekeepers / Janitorial

We are looking for a Janitor, or custodian, to take care of our building and carry out cleaning, maintenance and security duties. The goal is to keep our building in a clean and orderly condition.

Applicants will be given consideration if they are willing to work weekends and some holidays. Looking to fill AM schedule or PM schedule positions. We are also looking for overnight cleaning techs as well.

Requirements

Applicant must pass all pre-screening medical requirement within time frame given, this includes drug test and background checks.

Essential Functions

Able to lift 0 to 40 lb. frequently.

Must have communications skills in English (read, write, and speak).

Ability to interact with chemicals and cleaning agents.

Ability to wear latex or latex-free gloves.

Capable of standing, walking, squatting, bending, twisting, kneeling, and reaching continuously throughout the shift.

Capable of pushing and pulling a housekeeping cart, linen cart, or equipment on tile and carpeted floors continuously throughout the shift.

Capable of pushing and pulling furniture and equipment frequently.

Capable of lifting furniture and equipment (up to 25 lb.) frequently

Must be able to work weekends, holidays, and evening hours as needed per area assignment. Frequent interaction with facility employees requires the ability to communicate well with others in English. ALL schedules will be discussed during interview.

Housekeeper Job Description
Our goal is to provide a superior level of cleaning quality in an assigned area to maintain a clean working environment.

· Reports to the Environmental Services Director and Assistant Director for work scheduling.

· Performs daily cleaning procedures in accordance with HHS training videos in assigned areas. * Clean Daily Patient Areas or Contact Items (phone, bed-side table, over bed table, television control, etc.), Empty trash & replace liners (regular & biohazard), dusting, mopping, cleaning rooms.

* Mop tile floors * Vacuum carpeted areas

Check Daily - All edges less than 6 ft. , Walls & windows, Cubicle curtains, Wastebaskets (inside & outside), Needle boxes (dispose when ¾ full), Furniture & cabinets .

· Records work completed on Area Assignment Checklist.

· Polices (checks and tiddy up) assigned area at the beginning of each shift.

· Responds to Housekeeping pages in a timely manner.

* Cleans lobbies, walls, restrooms, patient rooms, etc.

· Performs other tasks as assigned by department Director.

Skills

• Proven working experience as a janitor
• Ability to handle heavy equipment and machinery
• Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies
• Familiarity with Material Safety Data Sheets
• Integrity and ability to work independently
• High school degree

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Contract
