Job Role Summary
The Security Officer ensures general safety and security of persons and property on HHC/MCPHD properties.
Essential Duties
Ensures general safety and security of persons and property on HHC/MCPHD properties.
Patrols HHC/MCPHD properties and environment.
Directs visitors, patients and employees to requested areas.
Assists in restraint of unruly or disorderly personnel.
Reports activities, security/safety conditions.
Patrols HHC/MCPHD properties to prevent fire, theft, vandalism and illegal entry, reporting unusual conditions or malfunctions to appropriate supervisory personnel.
Reports fire or disaster and performs security and evacuation services as outlined in HHC/MCPHD disaster plan.
Maintains appropriate records and prepares reports in connection with rounds, activities, incidents and investigation.
Associated Job Duties
Testifies in court when necessary.
Unlocks doors upon request.
Performs shuttle duties when necessary.
Performs duties as dispatcher when required.
Performs all other job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent; on the job training as determined by the hospital.
Experience in law enforcement or security.
Individual must not have a felony record.
Must complete the HHC Field Training Officer (FTO) Program within 122 days of hire date.
Licenses/Certifications Required
Must have a valid Indiana driver’s license that meets HHC/MCPHD driving policy requirements.
