We have an exciting opportunity for a talented Mechanical Engineer—passionate about mechanical systems design—to join our Washington, DC Mechanical team. You will contribute to a wide range of project types across the country, working with a nationally recognized, multidisciplinary team.
Our portfolio includes the design of healthcare facilities, corporate headquarters, laboratories, museums, government buildings (local, state, and federal), higher education campuses, and infrastructure improvements.
- With building codes and technologies evolving rapidly, we’re seeking professionals with:
- Expert knowledge of applicable codes and regulations
- Strong understanding of standard engineering practices, techniques, and procedures
- Advanced problem-solving skills
- Proficiency with Revit/BIM
- A collaborative mindset and ability to work closely with internal and external clients to develop and deliver innovative design solutions

In this role you will:
You will need to have:
- B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering
- 8 years of consulting engineering experience with emphasis on HVAC and plumbing systems design for healthcare, laboratory, commercial, municipal, institutional and government facilities and higher education facilities
- Revit, BIM, Trane/Trace, IES VE Title-24 2022 1.1, Energy Pro 9.3, CBECC 2022 3.1, and Microsoft Office skills required
- Professional Engineer registration a plus
- Knowledge in building control systems desired
Salary Information:
The pay range listed aligns to the geography of the office for which this position is posted. Actual compensation will be based upon work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer. Individuals in this role working more than 24 hours a week on a regular basis are eligible to participate in HGA’s robust benefit programs which include an annual bonus and success sharing bonus program, 401(k) guaranteed contribution, paid parental leave, medical, dental and life insurance plans as well as PTO and short- and long-term disability programs. Salary Range: $84,000 - $106,800
