What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lead Instrumentation Engineer position at HGA?
This Lead Instrumentation Engineer position is for a direct-hire working for HGA in the Ruston, LA office. You will work with other project leads, managing department resources and external partners. Your duty will be to ensure the precision of deliverables and consistency within your department.
In this role, you will:
Work on the detailed design of Capital Cost Estimates, Network Diagrams, P&ID development, Instrument List, I/O List, Cause & Effect Diagrams, Conduit & Cable Schedules, Instrument Location Plans & Details, Control Panel Layout & Wiring, Loop Sheets, Junction Box Layout & Wiring, and more!
Provide calculations and specifications necessary for the installation of instrumentation and controls, such as the diameter and size of conduits and cable trays
Prepare specifications for instrumentation and controls such as flowmeters, gauges, transmitters, analyzers, valves, switches, sensors, and emergency systems
Coordinate work assignments with other Department Team Leads and the Department Manager
Participate in team meetings to discuss manpower planning, resource availability, and the status of current assignments/projects
Participate in weekly meetings with Clients, as well as Design Review meetings which may require travel to Client offices and/or project locations
Coordinate with necessary managers/peers to resolve manpower conflicts for the assigned projects
Maintain timely Jobstat and Manpower updates for assigned projects
Ensure schedules are met for your projects (potentially multiple simultaneous projects)
Requirements:
REQUIREMENTS:
Hold a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program
5 years of experience in Instrumentation and Controls
Possess experience in the Oil & Gas industry
Understand Engineering design principles and practices as spelled out in codes and standards
Display strong leadership and communication skills
Professional Engineer license preferred.
Be within daily commuting distance of Ruston, LA - or being willing to relocate to Ruston.
