Salary: $68,640-$104k. Friday-Monday with 2 days off during the week strongly preferred.
Your Mission:
As the Director of Admissions, you will be the central point of contact for patients, families, and hospital partners during a vulnerable time of transition. You will be responsible for the entire admissions lifecycle, from initial inquiry and clinical/financial verification to a smooth and empathetic admission process. Your ability to build strong relationships, navigate complex regulations, and drive the census mix will be paramount to our success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement a comprehensive admissions and marketing plan to achieve and maintain budgeted census goals.
- Relationship Management: Serve as the primary liaison with hospital discharge planners, case managers, physicians, and other key referral sources to build a robust and reliable pipeline.
- Admissions Process Management: Oversee the entire admissions process, ensuring a seamless, efficient, and compassionate experience for all patients and their families.
- Clinical & Financial Coordination: Collaborate with clinical and financial teams to verify patient eligibility, insurance benefits (Medicare, Medicaid, Managed Care, Private Pay), and ensure clinical appropriateness for admission.
- Compliance & Documentation: Ensure all admissions practices and documentation are in strict compliance with federal, state, and company policies and procedures.
- Team Leadership:Potentially mentor and lead a small team of admissions coordinators or support staff, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- A minimum of 3-5 years of proven experience in admissions, marketing, or business development within a skilled nursing facility, hospital, or related healthcare setting.
- In-depth knowledge of the post-acute care landscape, including Medicare, Medicaid, and Managed Care reimbursement systems.
- Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills, with the ability to build immediate trust and rapport.
- A natural problem-solver who is organized, detail-oriented, and can manage multiple priorities under pressure.
- A compassionate and resilient leader with high emotional intelligence and a genuine desire to help others.
- Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) and admissions software.
