What are the responsibilities and job description for the Race Timer - Triathlon, Running and Biking Races position at HFP Racing?
HFP Racing is an event management company specializing in endurance events - from triathlon to trail running. To produce outstanding events, we rely on the expertise of our well rounded timing team to make sure that our event participants have a great experience by obtaining their results in an accurate and timely manner - onsite results.
A timing crew member works along side the Race Director and Timing Coordinator to bring innovative timing solutions to our athletes and make our events standout and special. The State of Ohio Triathlon, Duathlon and Aquabike Series and Greenswell Trail Run Series are an integral part of our business and a big part of the Ohio multisport and trail running community. A timing team member must have a strong sense of leadership, must be a problem-solver, be able to make quick critical decisions and multi-task in a potentially high stress environment, and have the desire to work on details on the back end of events to ensure their future success and growth.
This is a seasonal position beginning April - October. DO NOT APPLY IF YOU DO NOT HAVE EITHER TIMING EXPERIENCE OR AN INFO TECHNOLOGY BACKGROUND.
Required Skills
Candidates should have proven event timing and scoring experience, especially with triathlon and running. Strong understanding of technology and timing systems and scoring application. Must help foster a proactive work environment, be a good communicator, and willing to do what it takes to ensure the best customer experience possible.
Experience & Qualifications
- 1 years of timing experience or related field
- Excellent, proven interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
- Proven ability to work with little to no supervision and be able to follow directions
- Outgoing personality
- Experience with MyLaps, RaceResults timing system and RaceDay Scoring and RaceDirector scoring applications.
- Must be available nights, weekends, and provide own transportation for all events on and off site
Hours
Part-time. For running events, typically 4-5 hours on a weekend morning with 1-2 hours in planning leading to event. For triathlons and certain trail runs, 10-15 or more hours on-site timing and scoring.
