What are the responsibilities and job description for the Agricultural Equipment Operator position at HFI Harvesting Inc.?
On employer owned/operated farm: We need employees to start in February with field prep for the spring planting. Field prep includes laying tiling to control water in fields, repairing/removing and repairing fencing, dirt work, building terraces, and create and maintain drainage ditches. All this will need to be completed before our normal spring planting starts. During the spring employees will assist with raising, spraying, harvesting and hauling corn, soybeans, and wheat. Employees will need to operate combines, tractors, semi, tractor trailer and other farm equipment. Employees will complete routine maintenance on equipment and buildings. Service and repair equipment as needed. Complete duties as directed including but not limited to cleaning, shop work, yard work and other farm duties.
When custom harvesting only: Operates self-propelled custom harvesting machines to harvest a variety of grain and oilseed crops. Adjusts speed cutter, blowers and conveyors and height of cutting head, using hand tools. Changes cutting head as appropriate for crop. Drives semi-trucks to transport produce to elevator or storage area. The employer, at its sole discretion, may grant pay increases based on factors such as performance, longevity, and/or experience. Workers returning for a consecutive season will be paid at their previous season’s rate if that rate exceeds the current published rate.
