Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial trucks with manual transmissions across designated local routes
- Load and unload freight using appropriate equipment such as forklifts or roll-off trucks when necessary
- Deliver goods promptly to various customer locations while adhering to route schedules
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with regulations
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, route documentation, and delivery records
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers to coordinate deliveries and resolve issues
- Follow all safety protocols related to driving, load securement, and vehicle operation
Experience
- Valid Class A or B commercial driver’s license with clean driving record
- Proven experience as a delivery driver or in truck driving roles involving freight transport
- Familiarity with operating different types of trucks including refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, and tractor-trailers
- Knowledge of manual transmission operation preferred
- Experience loading/unloading freight and handling specialized equipment such as forklifts or roll-off trucks
- Ability to navigate route driving efficiently while maintaining safety standards
- Prior experience with freight handling, route planning, and customer service is highly desirable
