Duties
- Safely operate various commercial vehicles, including box trucks and other delivery vans, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Load and unload goods using equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks, ensuring items are secured properly for transit.
- Plan and follow efficient delivery routes to maximize productivity while maintaining punctuality.
- Deliver packages directly to customers’ locations with a focus on excellent customer service, professionalism, and positive interactions.
- Assist with warehouse tasks such as inventory management, moving stock, and organizing shipments when not on delivery routes.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after shifts to ensure safety standards are met; report any maintenance issues promptly.
- Handle heavy lifting safely during loading/unloading processes and ensure proper documentation of deliveries.
Experience
- Prior experience as a delivery driver or courier is highly preferred, especially with route driving responsibilities.
- Demonstrated customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with clients.
- Warehouse experience involving moving goods, operating forklifts or pallet jacks is a plus.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; experience operating vehicles with manual transmission is advantageous.
- Knowledge of safety procedures related to heavy lifting, moving goods, and vehicle operation.
- Familiarity with load & unload procedures, route planning, and basic vehicle maintenance practices.
