Are you an experienced Mechanical Engineer ready to lead innovative, sustainable projects in the Grocery sector? At HFA, we’re looking for a senior-level professional to step into the role of Engineer of Record (EOR), guiding multidisciplinary teams and shaping the future of high-performance building systems for our national Grocery clients.

This role is more than engineering—it’s mentorship, leadership, and impact. You’ll not only lead complex projects with confidence but also inspire the next generation of engineers, ensuring quality, performance, and technical excellence at every step.

What You’ll Do

• Serve as the go-to technical leader and EOR across multiple projects for major Grocery clients.
• Lead the design and QA/QC of mechanical systems, with a focus on HVAC, plumbing, and controls.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers, championing high standards and continuous learning.
• Collaborate with architects and fellow engineers to produce high-quality construction documents.
• Drive sustainability initiatives—especially around decarbonization and carbon-neutral HVAC systems.
• Interface directly with clients to understand goals, solve challenges, and deliver innovative solutions.
• Act as a thought leader in energy modeling, energy codes, and system performance optimization.
  
  
  

What You Bring

• Deep expertise in the Grocery sector with a strong understanding of project types and client needs.
• Licensed PE with multi-state capabilities (or willing to become licensed in multiple states).
• Strong grasp of energy modeling, decarbonization strategies, and modern sustainability practices.
• Ability to work independently while leading complex projects with minimal oversight.
• Proficiency in mechanical systems design, including HVAC, plumbing, sewer, gas, and water systems.
• Passion for coaching others and building a strong engineering culture.
