Job Summary
The position of Freight Broker is key within the organization responsible for soliciting freight from new and current customers, identifying new business opportunities, brokering freight, and contributing to the overall growth and profitability of the organization.
Duties
- Build and grow a book of business through prospecting, cold calling, and relationship development
- Manage freight from initial quote through delivery, ensuring a smooth and successful shipment
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers, carriers, and internal teams
- Identify new business opportunities and expand existing accounts
- Coordinate load coverage, pricing, and scheduling based on capacity and customer needs
- Communicate proactively with customers and internal teams to ensure service expectations are met
- Utilize internal systems and CRM tools to accurately track loads, customer interactions, and sales activity
- Partner with Operations to ensure seamless execution and customer satisfaction
- Assist with issue resolution including invoicing, claims, and service challenges
- Stay informed on market trends, pricing, and industry activity
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Experience
- 1 years experience in the Transportation industry is preferred, but not required
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
