Brief Description

Hexure builds the platforms that power insurance sales and distribution for the industry’s leading carriers, broker-dealers, and distributors. Our products — FireLight, ForeSight, Vive, and IXN — sit at the intersection of complex financial products and the technology that makes them transactable at scale.

We’re seeking a Senior Director of Engineering to own delivery execution, operational excellence, and organizational leadership across multiple domains within the engineering organization. This role is accountable for translating company strategy and technology vision into scalable execution, predictable delivery, and high-quality outcomes across multiple portfolios and geographies.

Reporting to the VP of Engineering and partnering closely with the CTO’s office, Product, and Architecture leadership, this role is central to scaling Hexure’s engineering organization following its acquisition by iCapital.

Deliverables And Performance Measures

Enterprise Engineering Execution & Delivery

  • Own delivery outcomes across multiple engineering portfolios, spanning product development, platform modernization, and shared services
  • Translate product roadmaps and architecture strategy into multi-quarter delivery plans with aligned capacity and sequencing
  • Establish organizational standards for delivery predictability, execution rigor, and accountability
  • Proactively manage risk across initiatives, escalating issues early with clear mitigation plans
  • Ensure teams are structured, staffed, and resourced appropriately, including oversight of offshore and nearshore partners

Metrics, Quality & Operational Excellence

  • Define and evolve the engineering operating model, metrics, and health indicators used for executive decision-making
  • Own platform-level quality, reliability, and stability outcomes for a multi-tenant SaaS environment
  • Drive CI/CD, DevOps maturity, automation, and release confidence across the organization
  • Ensure consistent engineering standards, architecture guardrails, and definition-of-done practices
  • Partner with Security and Enterprise Technology on incident management, compliance, and platform risk reduction

Senior Leadership & Organizational Development

  • Lead, coach, and develop Directors, Senior Managers, and Engineering Managers
  • Own performance management, succession planning, and compensation input across your organization
  • Build leadership bench strength and ready-now successors to support scale
  • Shape and reinforce a cohesive engineering culture across geographies
  • Serve as a senior leader in recruiting and closing top engineering leadership talent

Strategic & Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Drive and co-own multi-year platform modernization initiatives such as Hexure 3.0 / HexureIR
  • Influence roadmap feasibility, sequencing, and investment tradeoffs with Product and Architecture leadership
  • Champion AI-first engineering practices and practical adoption across teams
  • Represent Engineering leadership in executive reviews and client-facing escalations as needed
  • Contribute to annual planning, including headcount strategy, org design, and capacity modeling

What Will Make You Successful

  • 12 years of software engineering experience with 6 years in senior leadership roles managing managers or directors
  • Proven success leading large, distributed engineering organizations delivering complex SaaS platforms
  • Deep expertise in agile delivery systems and scaling operating models
  • Strong background in modern engineering operations, cloud platforms, CI/CD, and production reliability
  • Executive-level communication and ability to operate across strategic and execution layers
  • Experience managing offshore and nearshore teams and third-party vendors
  • Experience in regulated industries such as insurance or financial services is a plus

Expected Hours Of Work

This is a full-time position with regular work hours Monday through Friday. Employees in this role will work n the office Monday-Thursday, with the flexibility to work remotely on Friday.
