Quality Inspector

Hexagon Agility, a business of Hexagon Composites, is a leading global provider of clean fuel solutions for commercial vehicles and bulk gas transportation with more than $400 million of revenues. Our product offerings include (renewable) natural gas bulk distribution systems of compressed gases, lightweight Type 4 composite natural gas cylinders, and (renewable) natural gas fuel systems. These products transport clean gaseous fuels and enable vehicles to reduce emissions while lowering operating costs.

We're looking for a Quality Inspector for our Rialto, CA location. This role has a schedule of 6AM - 2:30PM M-F ( overtime and possible Saturday work will be required depending on production needs ).

Job Summary:

Ensures consistent quality of production by enforcing the Quality system, validating processes, and following documentation.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Conduct dimensional and cosmetic inspections of purchased components, mechanical assemblies and installed assemblies.
• Conduct First Article Inspections of purchased components and mechanical assemblies.
• Interpret mechanical drawings and specifications in order to measure complex dimensions such as weld symbols, bend angles/locations, squareness, radius, thread sizes, and port depths.
• Completing inspection sections of the Receiving process in ERP system
• Write Nonconformance Reports (MRB Case) in ERP system and Power Business applications.
• Creating inspection plans for purchased components and mechanical assemblies
• Frequent verification that control plans are adequate and effective in all phases of production.
• Assist manufacturing operations to resolve quality issues quickly and permanently as they arise.
• Interface with suppliers on quality issues.
• Coordinate containment and improvement actions to resolve issues in a timely manner.
• Other duties as assigned by management.
  
  

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

• Ability to use basic inspection tools such as: height gage, weld gage, radius gage, thread gages, drop indicator, pi tape, calipers and micrometers
• Utilizing basic inspection techniques for Geometric Design and Tolerancing call outs
• Support in the facilities general tool calibration program
• Intermediate knowledge/use of an ERP system.
• Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, & Power Point)
• Ability to understand complex situations, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
• Ability to write Quality task related work instructions.
• Inspires, motivates, and collaborates with others
• Self-motivated; able to work with minimal direction
• Anticipates needs and problems while creating solutions
  
  

Credentials And Experience

• High School diploma or GED required
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience as inspector (or greater role) in an ISO 9001 or AS9100 quality manufacturing environment required.
• Proficiency in the use of basic inspection tools is required
• Ability to use Microsoft Office products required
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical Engineering drawings is required
• Ability to use ERP systems is preferred
• Basic knowledge of Gage Repeatability and Reproducibility studies is preferred
• Basic understanding of automotive repair is preferred
• Basic understanding of electrical principles is preferred
