Job Details

We are seeking a Technical Specialist Expert to support the NC Health Information Exchange Authority (NC HIEA) Medicaid Services (HMS) Project. The ideal candidate will lead technical assistance initiatives, working with healthcare providers and EHR vendors to implement, enhance, and maintain healthcare data integrations.

This role involves supporting technical infrastructure, managing system enhancements for the NC HealthConnex Clinical Portal, and developing data queries and analytics to support healthcare data exchange and reporting initiatives.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead technical assistance efforts with healthcare participants and EHR vendors

  • Support and monitor NC HIEA and SAS technical environments

  • Manage change orders, bug fixes, and system updates for the NC HealthConnex Clinical Portal

  • Develop and validate data queries and reports using SQL, SAS, and InterSystems HealthShare

  • Perform exploratory data analysis (EDA) and support outbound data services

  • Collaborate with internal teams and healthcare stakeholders to ensure data quality and system reliability


Required Skills

  • 5 years of experience in healthcare data systems and integrations

  • Strong experience with SQL and SAS

  • Experience working with EHR systems and healthcare stakeholders

  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a hybrid work environment


Preferred Skills

  • Experience with Health Information Exchange (HIE) platforms

  • Medicaid or state government project experience

  • InterSystems HealthShare experience
