The Facility Manager – Manufacturing Operations is responsible for overseeing facility infrastructure that supports manufacturing operations and production activities. This role ensures that buildings, utilities, production areas, and supporting systems remain fully operational, compliant, and scalable to support production growth from early builds through structured manufacturing expansion.The Facility Manager serves as the primary point of contact for facility-related regulatory compliance, local jurisdiction and county requirements, landlord coordination, and execution of structural or infrastructure modifications. The role partners closely with manufacturing, engineering, safety, and operations teams to ensure facility readiness aligns with operational and production objectives.This position supports initial manufacturing operations in Sterling, Virginia, and leads facility transition planning and operational readiness for the Winchester, Virginia manufacturing site beginning in Year 2 and continuing through future expansion phases.Essential Responsibilities: Facility Operations & Infrastructure UptimeEnsure daily operational readiness of manufacturing facilities.Oversee building systems (Generator(s), HVAC, electrical, compressed air, utilities).Manage preventive and corrective maintenance programs.Respond to infrastructure issues affecting production.Code Compliance, Permitting & Landlord CoordinationServe as a primary liaison with county officials, inspectors, and regulatory authorities.Ensure compliance with building codes, fire codes, and occupancy requirements.Coordinate permits for structural modifications, equipment installation, and facility upgrades.Manage landlord communication regarding lease constraints and facility changes.Ensure all structural or infrastructure modifications are properly approved and documented.Facility Build-Out & ExpansionCoordinate facility layout implementation and workstation installations.Manage contractors for construction and facility modifications.Support production line installation and utility readiness.Oversee structural or infrastructure adjustments required for production ramp.Infrastructure Planning & ScalabilityPlan facility evolution from early builds to scaled production.Ensure adequate electrical load, ventilation, and utility capacity.Prepare infrastructure for composite operations and specialized manufacturing processes.Support long-term facility expansion planning.Vendor & Contractor ManagementManage maintenance vendors and facility service providers.Oversee service contracts and performance.Ensure cost control and service quality.Consumables & Operational Supply ManagementOwn procurement and inventory management of facility and manufacturing consumables, including:PPECleaning suppliesComposite-related consumables (as assigned)Maintenance materialsGeneral operational suppliesOffice supplies and common-use materialsEnsure uninterrupted availability of operational supplies to support production uptime.Coordinate with Supply Chain where appropriate for stocking strategy.Maintain cost control and usage monitoring of consumables.Establish reorder points and vendor relationships for recurring supplies.Budget & CAPEX CoordinationManage facility operating budget.Support capital planning for infrastructure improvements.Track facility-related expenditures.Qualifications & Experience: Required:7 years’ experience in facility management within industrial or manufacturing environments.Strong working knowledge of:Local building codesFire and occupancy requirementsCounty permitting processesLease and landlord compliance requirementsExperience managing structural modifications and equipment installations.Experience coordinating contractors and inspectors.Strong organizational and communication skills.Ability to work onsite full-time, based in Sterling, VA during Year 1 and transitioning to Winchester, VA in Year 2 and beyond. Regular travel between company sites may be required.Preferred:Experience in aerospace or advanced manufacturing facilities.Experience supporting composite or specialized industrial environments.Experience managing multi-site operations.Experience leading facility transitions or site expansions.Physical Requirements: Ability to work in both office and active manufacturing/industrial environments.Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout production, warehouse, and facility areas for extended periods while conducting inspections, audits, and project oversight.Ability to occasionally lift, carry, push, or move materials and equipment weighing up to 25–50 pounds.Ability to access all areas of the facility, including mechanical rooms, rooftops, loading docks, and utility spaces, which may require climbing stairs or ladders.Ability to perform visual inspections of building systems, equipment installations, safety conditions, and infrastructure components.Ability to operate standard office equipment and computers for extended periods while managing documentation, reporting, and facility systems.Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, safety shoes, hearing protection, hard hats, or other equipment as required in manufacturing or construction environments.Ability to work in environments with varying temperatures, moderate noise levels, and typical manufacturing conditions.Ability to respond to facility issues or emergencies that may require rapid movement throughout the site.Ability to communicate effectively with employees, contractors, inspectors, and external vendors in both office and industrial settings. Salary : $100,000 - $130,000
