Basil & Garlic Bistro, a small, established Italian restaurant in Scottsdale, is looking for dependable kitchen team members to join our back-of-house team.
We are hiring for multiple positions and are looking for people who can help with food prep, salads, pizza, and general kitchen operations.
Previous restaurant experience is preferred, especially in food prep, pizza, salads, or line cooking, but it is not required. We are willing to train someone who is reliable, works hard, learns quickly, and wants to develop kitchen skills.
What we offer:
- $16–$23 per hour, depending on experience and ability
- Candidates with no or limited restaurant experience may start around $16/hour
- Experienced prep cooks, pizza cooks, or line cooks may qualify toward the higher end of the range

Responsibilities may include:
- Preparing ingredients and completing daily prep
- Preparing salads and other cold-station items
- Assisting with pizza preparation and production
- Working on the kitchen line during service
- Following established recipes and portion standards
- Keeping kitchen stations clean, organized, and stocked
- Following food-safety and sanitation procedures
- Assisting other kitchen team members during busy service
Ideal candidate:
- Dependable and punctual
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced kitchen
- Able to follow recipes and instructions consistently
- Organized and willing to help wherever needed
- Previous experience in pizza, prep, salads, line cooking, Italian food, or a small independent restaurant is a plus
- Available for some combination of Tuesday through Saturday shifts
We care more about reliability, practical ability, attitude, and willingness to learn than culinary-school credentials or fine-dining experience.
