DEFINITION:
Under the direction of the Coordinator of Career and Adult Education, performs the primary role of a leader of learning in the assigned position. The ROP courses are designed to develop the knowledge and skills of various occupations and their presentation to outside audiences as used in an employment setting.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and taste or smell. The employee is occasionally required to sit and climb or balance.
The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts and in outside weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, extreme heat, and risk of electrical shock.

- Provides group and individual instruction utilizing the most effective teaching strategies, activities, aides and equipment
- Manages classroom/lab in such a manner as to ensure an environment conducive to learning
- Assists students in the learning process
- Evaluates student skill and job readiness competencies and maintains accurate student attendance records
- Completes and delivers written records and reports as required
- Provides leadership in developing and maintaining an active subject-field advisory committee
- Establishes and maintains effective communication and cooperation with others, including site and District Office personnel
- Conducts cooperative vocation methodology component of program within State requirements including coordination with job site supervisors
- Organizes instructional program and students effectively to accomplish defined objectives
- Develops and organizes instructional materials for the program
- Communicates effectively with students, administration, community members, and industry personnel
- Performs other job-related duties as required
- Valid California Credential in grade levels and areas assigned
- Valid English Learner Certification
- High School Diploma or GED
- Five years of full-time occupational experience in the field sought, one year of which must be within the last three years to satisfy the recency requirement
