Essential duties and responsibilities:
- Issue purchase orders based on the demand in the system and incoming requisition forms.
- Analyze the MRP demand to adjust orders according to real needs.
- Update the item data setting with correct lead times, prices, units of measure, country of origin and all other relevant information.
- Maintain and update supplier contact information in the system.
- Update the Supplier price lists in a timely manner.
- Manage material shortages and past due purchase order lines and make sure to meet the KPIs.
- Manage vendor warranty claims.
- Find and qualify new vendors based on the companies’ requirements and eliminate underperforming vendors.
- Negotiate and challenge vendor’s quotes in order to drive cost savings for the company.
- Maintain purchase price variances and work with accounting on solving problem invoices.
- Maintain clear professional and efficient communication with internal and external personnel.
- Perform other duties as designated by the department manager.
Qualifications for Senior buyer.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Purchasing, preferably in manufacturing.
- Experience working with EPR systems. Experience in Epicor is preferred.
- Proven negotiations skills
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management is preferred
- Supply Chain Management certificates are preferred.
