Housekeeper Full-Time 6am-2:30pm

This position requires working every other weekend and every other holiday.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. To follow cleaning schedules (daily, weekly, monthly) as outlined.
2. To clean assigned areas, movable and stationary furnishings, wall fixtures, lights, mirrors, and windows according to established procedures.
3. Disinfects and polishes where required.
4. Removes and disposes of trash.
5. Waters house and resident flowers/planters.
6. Vacuum and spot clean carpeting.
7. Cleans bathrooms (resident, public, and private). Replenishes supplies.
8. Straightens/rearranges and inspects furnishings.
9. Cleans walls, ceiling, ceiling fixtures and window blinds as scheduled.  Spot cleans between washings.
10. Cleans stairways, entrances and exits.
11. Removes for laundry and re-hangs curtains, drapes, and dividers.
12. Performs cleaning duties to resident rooms when discharged and prepares room for new occupant.
13. Performs cleaning duties in isolation units.
14. Reports observations concerning structural and equipment wear, defects, and malfunctions on a work order and to the Supervisor.
15. Maintains a clean and well kept housekeeping cart.
16. Attends In-services and staff meetings.
17. Cross train in Laundry.
18. Recognize your role as part of the QAPI efforts of your organization.
19. Attend trainings to build understanding and capacity to undertake QAPI work.
20. Carry out QAPI roles and responsibilities as assigned.
21. Follow established policies and procedures in support of QAPI efforts.
22. Look for and share with leadership ideas for improvement in the organization.
23. Communicate to leadership upon witnessing a positive outcome of a QAPI project or detecting barriers preventing project success.
24. Support QAPI efforts both verbally and non-verbally (i.e., via actions and attitude), including adjusting performance and practice in accordance with QAPI initiatives and findings.
25. Recognize your role for Trauma Informed Care:  Promotes a culture of safety, empowerment and healing; recognizes that everyone who interacts at Rest Haven may have past traumatic experience and protects trauma survivors from being re-traumatized.
26. Recognize your role for Compliance and Ethics:  Participates in annual compliance and ethics training.  Follows code of conduct reporting any compliance and ethics concerns.

NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Performs minor maintenance repairs as directed by Supervisor.
2. Delivers and stocks incoming supplies in designated storerooms.
3. Performs emergency cleaning where and when accidents occur.
4. Buffs floors and disinfects where and when necessary.
5. Clean with Autoscrubber as needed.
6. Other duties as assigned by Housekeeping Supervisor, Designee.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

1. Well lighted and ventilated institution.
2. Must stand, walk, and bend most of the working day.
3. Pushes, pulls, and lifts cleaning equipment and supplies.
4. Exposed to infection irregularly when entering Resident rooms.
5. Subject to heavy dust and disinfectants.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. High school education or equivalent preferred.
2. Must be able to follow written and oral directions.
3. Ability to communicate and cooperate with a variety of people (Residents, visitors, co-workers, and supervisors)
4. Personal cleanliness and good grooming habits.
5. Must have a sense of responsibility.
6. Must adhere to dress code.
7. Must be able to work without direct supervision.
8. Adequate physical health to perform the essential functions of this position.
