Job Skills / Requirements

SUMMARY: Maintain trees and shrubs, through systematic pruning and integrated pest management as part of an overall plant health care program for the landscape at a client site in the southwest region of the United States. Supervise and perform daily, specialty tasks such as cabling, bracing, rigging and safe removals of trees.  

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following (other duties may be assigned): The primary responsibility of the Climbing Arborist (1 year experience) is to perform daily operations related to the maintenance of trees. Essential aspects of this position include: 1. Performs tree maintenance operations 2. Ability to operate motor vehicles, lift/move equipment, materials, supplies and tools; climbing gear, rigging equipment, wear protective clothing as required by client and company.3 Required to follow all company, client, and regulatory agency policies. 

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Two years Climbing and rigging tree work experience required. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.  EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Two years of Arborist tree climbing experience required. High school diploma. Bachelors a plus. ISA Certified a plus. 2 years of tree climbing experience while performing tree pruning and rigging required. Drag and chip limbs safely and efficiently.  Chainsaw and bucket truck experience. Willing to get ISA certified within 2 years. Daily tool maintenance. Safety.    

  LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions. Ability to write simple correspondence. 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:  A valid state driver's license.  Willing to get ISA certified within 2yrs  

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical requirements for this job could be lifting up to 90 pounds. Able to climb trees. Working on very hot days and very cold days.
