Herzog Contracting Corp. is currently seeking a Project Engineer throughout the United States to join our team.
Duties And Responsibilities
- This is a non-exhaustive overview of the job duties for this position.
- Assist Project Manager and Construction Manager by providing field and management support during pre-construction and construction activities.
- Learn, understand and ensure follow-through on all contractual requirements for both Herzog and the client.
- Review and log shop drawings; assist field and office engineers with processing of submittals, RFI’s, quantity tracking, labor production and daily reporting of field activities.
- Provide coding for materials, labor, equipment, vendor and subcontractor invoices.
- Procure and ensure timely delivery of materials to the project.
- Assist with Subcontract administration.
- Acquire and assist with obtaining and closing construction-related permits.
- Mentor and provide oversight for field engineers.
- Identify and lead project closeout requirements throughout construction.
- Regular and consistent engagement, participation and promotion of Herzog’s Culture and its essential behaviors are a requirement for this position.
- Regular and predictable attendance and punctuality are a requirement for this position.
- Other duties as assigned.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or equivalent experience in a construction related position preferred.
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work with a team.
- Must have strong organization skills.
- Must be highly motivated.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel; experience with Procore is a plus.
- Subject to pre-employment background check and motor vehicle report review.
- Maintain a valid driver's license and endorsements as required per position.
- Subject to pre-employment physical, medical evaluation, and drug screen due to the safety sensitive nature of this position.
- Successfully complete and maintain any required safety certification and testing on an annual basis.
