Duties And Responsibilities
- This is a non-exhaustive overview of the job duties for this position.
- Manage all aspects from design coordination through construction and commissioning of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire/life safety, low voltage system, and fire sprinkler scopes.
- Provide support for estimating, subcontractor bid reviews, scheduling, project logistics, and constructability reviews as it relates to MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) systems.
- Manage all MEP subcontractors and coordinate the planning and installation of the following systems: electrical, HVAC, automation, plumbing, low voltage systems, fire/life safety, and fire protection.
- Manage MEP trade material submittals in accordance with the contract document
- Participate in review of all Systems related shop drawings and submittals
- Assist in the development of full commissioning plans for all MEP systems that identify and define the following: all test requirements, required inspections, factory start-up of major equipment, factory acceptance testing, project and vendor documentation requirements, and integrated test plans demonstrating full system operations.
- Manage contracts to evaluate change orders, pay applications, forecast cost, and identify risks and opportunities
- Regular and consistent engagement, participation and promotion of Herzog’s Culture and its essential behaviors are a requirement for this position.
- Regular and predictable attendance and punctuality are a requirement for this position.
- Other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent combinations of training and related experience preferred.
- 5 years of experience in construction and managing MEP trades.
- Strong grasp of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, and interpreting schematics and diagrams.
- Able to work with team members, subcontractors, stakeholders, owner representatives, and other parties to identify and resolve complex issues as it relates to MEP design and construction.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Detail oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Excellent problem solving, troubleshooting, and written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient use of Word, Excel, Outlook, P6, and Procore.
- Subject to pre-employment background check and motor vehicle report review.
- Maintain a valid driver’s license and endorsements as required per position.
- Subject to pre-employment physical, medical evaluation, and drug screen.
- Successfully complete and maintain any required safety certification and testing on an annual basis.
