Position Overview
This is not a casual hosting role.
This is a live, on-camera sales position where you are responsible for maintaining energy, controlling the pace of the show, and driving bidding activity in a fast-moving auction environment.
You will be leading a live audience in real time. The ability to think quickly, communicate clearly, and keep momentum is essential.
If you are not naturally high-energy, confident on camera, and comfortable taking control of a live environment, this role will not be a fit.
What You’ll Do
- Host scheduled livestream auctions on camera
- Drive bidding activity through energy, pacing, and audience engagement
- Control the flow and momentum of each show
- Present auction items clearly while interacting with a live audience
- Adapt in real time to audience behavior and engagement levels
- Represent Hertel’s Coins professionally during every broadcast

Live auctions are scheduled events. The team and audience depend on the host to show up and perform. Missed or late shifts are not acceptable.

- Anyone who struggles with consistency, urgency, or punctuality
Experience That Translates Well
- Live selling (eBay Live, Whatnot, TikTok Live, etc.)
- Commission-based sales (retail, automotive, jewelry, etc.)
- Auction environments
- Bartending or high-volume customer interaction roles
- Public speaking, broadcasting, or on-camera presentation
- Brand ambassador or product demonstration roles
Schedule & Expectations
- Part-time, scheduled live auction shifts (typically ~4 hours)
- Shows run 7 days per week, including evenings and weekends
- Hosts must maintain energy, engagement, and pacing for the full duration of each show
- Reliability is critical due to the live nature of the role
- Candidate must be able to pass a background check
Compensation: Hourly (higher shift premium for more experienced nights and weekend closers)
Location: This is an in-person role at our store in Lake in the Hills, IL.

Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 8.0 – 16.0 per week
