JOB SUMMARY: This position works under the direction of the Controller and Company Owner to ensure the highest level of accuracy and detail in all aspects of Accounts Payable. The Accounts Payable Specialist performs duties in accordance with company policies and pursuing the mission of “Superior Production Systems.”
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Processes all invoices including accurate, efficient entry into the ABC accounting system and prepares invoices for approval.
2. Enters accounting screens to bill out expenses as appropriate.
3. Distinguish between operating expenses and capital expenses and process accordingly.
4. Reconciles vendor statements monthly.
5. Reconciles and enters company credit card statements into the accounting system monthly.
6. Processes payments by check and/or web portal systems.
7. Enters check information into bank Positive Pay system.
8. Receives and enters feed invoices including entry, scanning and reconciling with batch sheets.
9. Reviews incoming emails for invoices from sow farms and other vendors.
10. Answers phones.
11. Receives / sorts mail.
12. Scans, files and maintains A/P electronic and paper files.
13. Communicate with vendors to resolve A/P discrepancies.
EXPERIENCE: Minimum 2 – 3 years of Accounts Payable experience
QUALIFICATIONS:
Candidate must possess the following characteristics:
· Attention to detail and high level of accuracy imperative
· Math proficiency
· Flexibility and ability to adapt to change a must
· Self-starter who can multi-task, prioritize, work independently
· Excellent customer service skills
· Strong verbal / written communication skills
Required technical skills:
· Accounts Payable Software experience
· Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
EDUCATION: High school diploma required with math proficiency
WORKING CONDITIONS / PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Upbeat, casual office environment; requires ability to spend moderate lengths of time viewing computer screen, sit for extended period of time.
Pay: $25.00 - $28.00 per hour
