What are the responsibilities and job description for the Auto shop manager position at Hersey LLC?
Overview
I’m acquiring an established auto repair shop and I’m intentionally structuring it with an operating partner who wants ownership.
I’ll handle the capital, financing, and strategy. You would have full operational control of the shop and a market salary for managing it.
In addition, there’s a clear path to earning 10-20% equity over time, with vesting and profit sharing. The upside is long-term—through growth, debt paydown, and an eventual refinance or exit.
Because this is a bank-financed acquisition, the lender requires an experienced operator to provide a limited personal guarantee. I wouldn’t ask for that without real equity, vesting protections, and a defined burn-off of the guarantee.
If it ever doesn’t work, we’d have a clean buy-sell agreement so both sides are protected.
I’m looking for someone who wants to build something long-term, not just manage a shop.”
