The Van Driver safely transports hosts between work and non-work destinations.
We are currently looking for a:
Story Land - Van Driver (Workamper)
Roles & Responsibilities:
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Greet riders in a friendly and professional manner as they enter vehicle
- Transport hosts between approved destinations on a repeating established route throughout the day
- Transport hosts to special events, airport, or other destinations, as requested by park leadership
- Safely operate van or any other company motor vehicles in accordance with all company policies and procedures
- Obey all traffic laws and state/local transit regulations
- Transport international students to various attractions for weekly trips
- Maintain the van in a clean and orderly fashion
- Ensure that all assigned vehicles have the appropriate amounts of gas and fluids
- Report any mechanical issues to supervisor and/or maintenance team in a timely manner
- Update daily logs with all required vehicle and/or passenger information
- All other duties assigned by leadership
Education and Experience:
- No education requirements for this position
- 1 years of previous public transportation or commercial vehicle operation experience highly desired, but not required
Language: Ability to read, write, and speak fluent English; Spanish or other bilingual language skills are a plus.
Requirements:
- Must be at least 18 years of age to comply with NH Child Labor Laws
- Ability to work flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, open to close
- Must possess a valid driver's license and a good driving record
- Ability to safely and efficiently operate motorized vehicles and equipment
- Ability to comply with all uniform policies
- Must possess extensive knowledge of all pertinent traffic laws and transit regulations
- Ability to firmly and fairly enforce all vehicle rules and regulations.
- Ability to continuously remain visually and mentally alert at all times.
- Ability to maintain composure during emergencies or other stressful situations.
- Must possess exceptional customer service skills, with an ability to resolve questions, problems, issues, and concerns in a positive and professional manner
- Ability to follow direction, multi-task, and work as part of a team as well as independently
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to remain seated for extended periods of time, while operating vehicle
- Ability to stand, walk, stoop, twist, kneel, bend, or squat or reach above shoulders
- Ability to carry, push, pull, lift, and hold objects weighing 40 pounds or more
- Ability to consistently use hands to grasp, control, move objects/tools
- Ability to see clearly when operating all vehicles, with or without corrective lenses
- Ability to see differences between colors and brightness
- Ability to see details of objects that are more than a few feet away
Working Conditions:
- This role predominantly involves operating motorized vehicles onsite and offsite.
- Exposure to the variable outside temperatures, including high heat, cold, direct sun, humidity, dust, rain and other weather conditions
- Subject to the handling of and exposure to chemicals, detergents, and cleaners
- Subject to frequent interruptions and requests that may require reprioritization of activities
