Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and seasoned Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing a WIDE range of accounting functions, including financial reporting, compliance, bookkeeping, federal and state tax filings, and analysis. This role requires strong technical accounting skills, familiarity with various accounting software including Quickbooks, and the ability to interpret complex financial data. The Accountant will play a key role in ensuring accurate financial statements and supporting the organization’s financial health across both non-profit and corporate sectors.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and analyze financial statements in accordance with GAAP and regulatory standards
  • Manage general ledger accounting, account reconciliation, and bank reconciliations
  • Conduct accounts payable and accounts receivable processing using software such as QuickBooks
  • Perform month-end and year-end closing procedures, including journal entries and balance sheet reconciliation
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis activities to aid strategic decision-making
  • Ensure compliance with SOX regulations and other regulatory reporting requirements
  • Assist with audit preparations and coordinate with external auditors during audits
  • Maintain accurate records of financial transactions, including debits & credits and accrual accounting entries
  • Monitor cash flow analysis and manage payroll processing
  • Provide mentorship to junior accounting staff or interns as needed
  • Stay updated on relevant laws such as securities law, wills & estate law, and governmental accounting standards

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA certification preferred
  • Proven experience in corporate accounting, public accounting, or similiar businesses
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, SOX compliance, LIHTC regulations, and securities law is highly desirable
  • Proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks and ZOHO books
  • Excellent understanding of technical accounting concepts including double entry bookkeeping, journal entries, account reconciliation, and financial statement preparation
  • Experience with financial report writing and interpretation for management review
  • Ability to perform detailed financial analysis, including cash flow analysis and budget management
  • Familiarity with regulatory reporting requirements and internal controls processes
  • Strong analytical skills combined with excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities
  • Effective mentoring skills with a focus on developing team expertise in financial concepts such as GAAP, accrual accounting, and financial management

Pay: $62,400 - $72,400

Requirements - Bachelor's degree in accounting, background check, and 5 years of experience
