Position Overview

Herow Marketing is seeking a talented and reliable Social Media Content Creator with strong skills in both photography and videography. This role is ideal for a creator who understands how to capture high-performing, platform-optimized content, not just visually appealing media.

You will work closely with our Account Managers and Strategy Team to produce photo and video content designed specifically for Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn, and YouTube Shorts. This is a hands-on, production-focused role where preparation, professionalism, and consistency are key.

This position requires creators who can operate independently, bring their own professional equipment, and deliver content that aligns with brand strategy and social media best practices.

Key ResponsibilitiesContent Creation

• Capture high-quality photography and short-form video for social media platforms
• Film vertical-first content optimized for reels, shorts, and stories
• Produce lifestyle, branded, behind-the-scenes, and promotional content
• Adapt shooting style and creative approach based on brand guidelines and platform requirements

Pre-Production & Collaboration

• Collaborate with Herow Marketing’s Account Managers and Strategy Team prior to shoots
• Understand client goals, brand voice, and content strategy
• Assist with shot lists, creative direction, and content ideas when needed

Post-Production (as applicable)

• Perform basic photo and video editing (color correction, trimming, formatting)
• Export content in correct sizes, aspect ratios, and resolutions for social media
• Deliver final assets within agreed timelines

On-Site Execution

• Travel to scheduled client locations for content shoots
• Maintain a professional, client-facing presence at all times
• Efficiently set up, manage, and operate your own equipment

Required Qualifications for Equipment (Required)

Applicants must own and use their own professional equipment, including:

• Camera capable of high-resolution photography and video
• Lenses suitable for both photo and video work
• Stabilization equipment (tripod, gimbal, or equivalent)
• Audio equipment for video (when applicable)
• Lighting equipment (preferred)

Experience & Skills

• Proven experience as a social media content creator, photographer, or videographer
• Strong understanding of lighting, framing, composition, and movement
• Experience creating content specifically for social media platforms
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
• Experience working with brands, businesses, or agencies preferred

Portfolio Requirement (Mandatory)

A portfolio submission is required to be considered for this role.

Your portfolio should include:

• Examples of social media-focused photography
• Examples of short-form video content
• Any branded or client work (preferred)

Compensation

• $24.42 – $29.41 per hour, depending on experience and portfolio quality
