Position Overview
Academy Kids Dental, Vision, & Orthodontics in Colorado Springs, CO, is currently seeking a Refraction Technician to support our pediatric vision patients. This position will report to the practice Optometrist.
Job Responsibilities
- Perform preliminary refractions and other diagnostic tests
- Explain basic exam procedures to patients and caregivers
- Act as tech and scribe when needed
- Sterilize and set up instruments while monitoring stock supplies
- Assist in the training and development of Vision Technicians
- Ensure practice is clean and presentable to patients to include cleaning restrooms, patient lobby, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, etc.
- Participate in other duties that support the mission of providing high-quality and compassionate dental, vision, and orthodontic services to underserved children
Job Qualifications
- Paraoptometric certification (CPOA or CPOT) strongly preferred
- At least one year of previous vision experience
- Strong interpersonal communication skills
- Demonstrated attention to detail
- Previous pediatric experience a plus
