Direct Support Professional – IHS without training
About the Position
We are seeking compassionate, reliable staff to provide Individualized Home Supports (IHS) Without Training services to individuals with disabilities in their own homes or family homes.
This position focuses on support, supervision, and assistance not skill-building or formal training.
You will play a key role in helping people live as independently as possible while staying safe, healthy, and connected to their community.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct support in at least one community living service category:
- Community participation
- Health, safety, and wellness
- Household management
- Adaptive skills
- Assist individuals with daily routines, such as:
- Meal preparation, cleaning, laundry, and household organization
- Transportation or accompaniment to appointments or community activities
- Ensuring health and safety in the home and community
- Offer companionship and emotional support
- Follow the person’s Coordinated Service and Support Plan (CSSP)
- Document services provided per DHS and agency policy
- Communicate effectively with the person served, family members, and supervisors
- Maintain confidentiality and uphold DHS 245D and agency standards
Qualifications
- Must be 18 years or older
- Able to pass a Minnesota DHS background study
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license (if transporting clients)
- Compassionate, dependable, and respectful of individuals’ choices and independence
- Previous caregiving or direct support experience helpful but not required (training provided)
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $22.00 per hour
