Job Overview
We are seeking dedicated and adaptable Substitute Teachers to join our educational team. As a Substitute Teacher, you will play a vital role in maintaining a positive learning environment when the regular teacher is unavailable. You will be responsible for implementing lesson plans, managing classroom behavior, and ensuring that students continue to engage with their educational material. This position requires a passion for education and the ability to communicate effectively with students of varying backgrounds and abilities.
Responsibilities
- Implement lesson plans provided by the regular teacher to ensure continuity of instruction.
- Manage classroom behavior and maintain a safe and respectful learning environment.
- Communicate effectively with students, fostering an atmosphere of trust and encouragement.
- Provide support to students with special needs, including those on the autism spectrum.
- Assist in literacy education and tutoring as needed to help students achieve their learning objectives.
- Collaborate with school staff to address any behavioral or academic concerns.
- Adapt teaching methods to accommodate diverse learning styles, including Montessori approaches when applicable.
- Engage with students in both private school settings and diverse educational environments.
Skills
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with students and staff.
- Experience working with students in various educational settings, including special education and behavior management.
- Familiarity with tutoring techniques that support literacy education.
- Ability to manage classroom dynamics and implement effective behavior management strategies.
- Experience or training in Montessori methods is a plus but not required.
- A compassionate approach towards working with individuals on the autism spectrum or other special needs.
