Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Mechanical Engineer located in Sanford, FL. The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for designing and developing machines, utilizing Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software, conducting research and development activities, and managing projects. The position also involves collaborating with cross-functional teams and contributing to the creation of innovative engineering solutions.
Position Summary
- Design and optimize custom built machines used for dispensing and curing adhesives and sealants for various industries like automotive, electronics and ammunition.
- Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- · Manage all phases of the design process for a multitude of products, components, parts, assemblies and sub-assemblies including drafting, dimensioning, tolerance, prototyping and documenting results
- · Analyze electro-mechanical and electro-hydraulic systems for performance and documentation
- · Develop manufacturing drawings, assembly drawings and bill of material for manufacturing and application
- · Read and interpret blue prints, technical drawings, schematics and computer-generated reports
- · Consult with Control Engineer and other team members to implement operating procedures, resolve system malfunctions and provide technical information
- Research and develop customer design proposals, specifications and other data to evaluate the feasibility, cost and maintenance requirements or designs or applications
- Specify system components or direct modification of products to ensure conformance with engineering design and performance specifications
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
- · Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- · Solid Works, Auto-CAD
- · Ability to create Bill of Materials
- · Coordinate with customers and vendors
- · Microsoft Office preferred
