At Hernando Animal Clinic and Surgery Center, we provide exceptional veterinary care to the pets of DeSoto County and the surrounding communities. Our team offers a full range of services including preventive care, surgery, dentistry, and diagnostics—all delivered with compassion and excellence.
Hours of Operation:
- Monday – Friday: 7:30 AM – 5:30 PM
- Saturday: 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM
- Sunday: Closed
You’ll work closely with veterinarians, technicians, and client service representatives to provide the highest level of care and service.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide daily care and attention to dogs, cats, and other pets, including feeding, watering, bathing, and exercising.
- Maintain a clean and sanitary environment in all kennel, hospital, and boarding areas.
- Observe animals for signs of stress, illness, or injury and report changes in behavior or condition to veterinary staff promptly.
- Assist with restraining and handling animals safely during treatments, exams, and grooming.
- Support veterinary technicians and assistants as needed during patient care.
- Clean cages, runs, and hospital equipment using proper sanitation procedures.
- Maintain accurate feeding, medication, and care records for all boarding and hospitalized animals.
- Provide excellent customer service by treating clients and their pets with respect, compassion, and professionalism.
- Assist with laundry, inventory, and general hospital maintenance to ensure smooth daily operations.
- Uphold hospital safety protocols and infection control standards.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Prior experience in animal care, veterinary, kennel, or grooming environments strongly preferred.
- Comfortable handling animals of various breeds, sizes, and temperaments.
- Compassionate, patient, and attentive to detail.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Reliable, punctual, and willing to assist wherever needed.
- Must be able to stand, walk, and lift up to 50 pounds throughout the shift.
- Weekend and holiday availability may occasionally be required.
