Hermeus is seeking a highly motivated Purchasing Coordinator to support day-to-day purchasing activities and ensure timely and accurate order execution across the supply chain. This role will be responsible for issuing purchase orders, maintaining supplier documentation, coordinating with internal stakeholders, and supporting order tracking to ensure alignment with program schedules.
The successful candidate will be detail-oriented, organized, and able to thrive in a fast-paced aerospace environment, ensuring that material and services are procured efficiently and compliantly. This critical role ensures the procurement of key components and materials essential to the company's mission, upholding quality and supporting innovation from concept through to full-scale production.

Responsibilities
- Issue, track, and maintain purchase orders in support of program and production requirements.
- Communicate order confirmations, changes, and updates between suppliers and internal teams.
- Coordinate with engineering, planning, logistics, and quality teams to ensure purchased items meet specifications and delivery timelines.
- Monitor supplier delivery schedules and escalate potential delays or issues to supply chain leadership.
- Maintain accurate supplier records, certifications, and documentation in compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements.
- Support resolution of order discrepancies, invoicing issues, and material non-conformance reports.
- Assist in tracking supplier performance metrics (on-time delivery, quality compliance, responsiveness).
- Coordinate expediting activities for critical parts and communicate delivery status updates to stakeholders.
- Ensure purchasing transactions comply with company policies, U.S. government regulations (ITAR/DFARS), and audit requirements.
- Provide administrative support to the procurement team, including reporting, filing, and maintaining system data integrity.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
- 1 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain coordination.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills to interact with suppliers and cross-functional teams.
- 2 years of experience in aerospace, defense, or manufacturing environments.
- Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar).
- Knowledge of purchasing processes, supplier documentation, and compliance requirements.
- Experience supporting audits and maintaining supplier certifications.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple purchase orders in a fast-paced environment.
- Background in the aerospace industry or within hardware startup environments
