Duties
- Operate cherry pickers, reach trucks, forklifts, Hi-Lo, clamp trucks, pallet jacks, and other heavy equipment safely to pick orders accurately.
- Load and unload shipments using appropriate equipment while adhering to OSHA safety standards in production environments.
- Conduct manual handling tasks such as lifting heavy materials and performing heavy equipment repairs when necessary.
- Use warehouse management systems (WMS) to track inventory movements, update order statuses, and ensure accurate order picking.
- Assist with shipping and receiving processes by verifying incoming goods against purchase orders and preparing outgoing shipments.
- Maintain a clean and organized warehouse distribution area, following safety protocols for materials handling and heavy lifting.
- Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to optimize storage solutions, improve workflow efficiency, and uphold safety standards in all operations.
Qualifications
- Proven experience operating reach trucks, lift trucks, or other warehouse equipment such as clamp trucks or Hi-Lo forklifts.
- Strong knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) and order picker procedures.
- Mechanical knowledge for basic equipment repair and troubleshooting.
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks involving heavy lifting safely and efficiently.
- Familiarity with OSHA regulations and safety standards in production environments.
- Excellent attention to detail for accurate order picking and shipping/receiving documentation.
- Basic math skills for inventory counts, measurements, and calculations related to materials handling.
- Prior warehouse experience is preferred; experience in warehouse supervision is a plus but not required.
