A Day in the Life at HEG
Every day begins with welcoming smiling faces and helping children feel safe, loved, and excited to learn. You'll lead engaging learning activities, read stories, encourage creativity through art and play, explore outdoors, celebrate milestones, and guide children as they build confidence and independence. Throughout the day, you'll partner with families, collaborate with fellow teachers, and create a classroom where every child feels valued. What You'll Do
- Create and implement engaging, age-appropriate lesson plans.
- Foster a safe, positive, and nurturing classroom environment.
- Encourage children's social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development.
- Maintain active supervision throughout the day.
- Communicate professionally with families regarding children's progress and daily activities.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming classroom.
- Follow all licensing, health, and safety regulations.
- Work collaboratively with fellow teachers and school leadership.
What We're Looking For
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Previous childcare or preschool experience preferred.
- CDA or Early Childhood Education coursework is a plus.
- Passion for working with young children.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Dependable attendance and punctuality.
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Ability to meet Alabama childcare licensing requirements.
- Ability to actively supervise children, lift up to 50 pounds, and participate in daily classroom activities.
