The Role
The Project Manager serves as the Landscaping Production Manager for our Residential division, overseeing the production processes and residential production crews to ensure work is completed on time, on budget, and with our standard of excellence. This includes planning and scheduling maintenance and installation activities, overseeing budgets and materials, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. This position also manages client communication, service requests, and correspondence.
Core Responsibilities Include:
- Production planning: Develop seasonal production plans, set crew schedules and deadlines, and manage the overall residential workflow.
- Team leadership: Supervise and motivate residential production crews, and delegate tasks to maximize efficiency and quality.
- Budget and finance: Estimate job costs, monitor expenditures, review labor and materials costs, and maintain budget compliance across residential accounts.
- Quality and safety: Ensure all residential work meets our quality standards and enforce strict safety protocols and best practices in the field.
- Resource and materials management: Order materials, manage inventory, and coordinate the allocation of crews, equipment, and resources across residential job sites.
- Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for residential clients, managing expectations, addressing concerns, and ensuring a high-quality customer experience.
- Problem-solving: Identify potential risks and scheduling bottlenecks, and make real-time decisions to resolve issues that arise across residential job sites.
- Reporting: Prepare production reports and communicate operational updates, including risks and opportunities, to senior management.
- Cost Analysis & Control: Analyze job costs, track expenses, and maintain strict budget compliance across the residential account portfolio.
- Communication & Collaboration: Coordinate with internal teams, vendors, and clients to resolve issues and drive successful outcomes across all residential accounts.
Essential Skills & Qualifications:
- Landscaping knowledge: A deep understanding of residential landscaping, hardscaping, construction, horticulture, and maintenance best practices is essential.
- Experienced Leader: Proven track record of managing crews and production operations within residential landscaping or related industries.
- Operations Pro: Strong organizational skills to manage resources, budgets, and schedules effectively.
- Risk management: Proactively identifying and mitigating scheduling conflicts, crew challenges, and quality risks is key to keeping accounts on track.
- Team Builder: Ability to lead, motivate, and develop a high-performing team through coaching and performance management.
- Problem Solver: Quick thinker who can adapt to challenges and optimize processes to boost productivity.
- Project Management: 3-5 years of production management experience with a strong understanding of residential landscape maintenance and installation processes.
- Technical Proficiency: Skilled at analyzing job costs, proficient in Microsoft Office and project management software.
- Bilingual Required: Fluent in Spanish and English to effectively communicate with crews.
