Job Summary

The Production Supervisor / Manager will oversee the shop floor operations, ensuring efficient production, high-quality output, and a safe working environment. This role is responsible for managing personnel schedules, driving productivity, and implementing lean methodologies to optimize manufacturing processes. A strong background in stamping operations is essential to maintain the precision and quality standards of our luxury cookware.

Key Responsibilities

  • Shop Floor Management: Oversee daily operations on the shop floor, ensuring production goals are met while maintaining quality and safety standards.
  • Personnel Management: Develop and manage employee schedules, ensuring adequate staffing to meet production demands. Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
  • Productivity Optimization: Monitor and improve production efficiency, identifying bottlenecks and implementing solutions to enhance throughput and reduce waste.
  • Lean Methodologies: Apply lean manufacturing principles (e.g., 5S, Kaizen, Just-In-Time) to streamline processes, minimize costs, and improve operational efficiency.
  • Stamping Operations: Utilize expertise in stamping operations to ensure precision in metal forming processes, maintaining the high-quality standards of luxury cookware production.
  • Quality Control: Collaborate with quality assurance teams to ensure products meet rigorous standards and customer expectations.
  • Inventory Management: Coordinate with supply chain teams to manage raw materials and inventory levels, ensuring uninterrupted production.
  • Safety Compliance: Enforce safety protocols and maintain a safe working environment in compliance with OSHA and company regulations.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Track production metrics, prepare reports, and analyze data to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Cross-Department Collaboration: Work closely with design, engineering, and sales teams to align production with product development and customer needs.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field preferred. Equivalent experience considered.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in manufacturing, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role.
  • Technical Skills: Strong understanding of stamping operations and metal forming processes. Proficiency in lean manufacturing methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean Certification preferred).
  • Leadership: Proven ability to lead and motivate a team, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Problem-Solving: Analytical mindset with the ability to identify issues and implement effective solutions.
  • Software Proficiency: Familiarity with ERP systems, production planning software, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to work on the shop floor, including standing for extended periods and occasionally lifting up to 50 lbs.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in the consumer goods manufacturing industry.
  • Knowledge of CNC machining, or other metalworking processes.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 or similar quality management systems.
