Overview
As a Medication Technician / Resident Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting residents with daily living activities while promoting dignity, independence, and overall well-being. You will also assist with medication administration (as applicable), activities, dining support, and maintaining a safe and engaging environment.
Duties
- Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and personal hygiene
- Support use and care of assistive devices (glasses, hearing aids, etc.)
- Promote independence while ensuring safety and dignity
- Observe and report changes in residents’ physical or emotional condition
- Light housekeeping: making beds, cleaning resident areas, emptying trash
- Escort residents throughout the community
- Assist with resident orientation and integration into the community
- Escort residents to and from dining areas
- Assist with meal service, table setup, and cleanup
- Support dietary team as needed
- Assist with and lead resident-centered activities under direction of Activities Coordinator
- Encourage participation in social and recreational programs
- Monitor for safety hazards and report concerns
- Respond appropriately to emergency situations
- Maintain accurate documentation and follow all regulatory requirements
- Collaborate with team members, leadership, and families
- Communicate professionally in all situations
- Report concerns to the Resident Care Coordinator or leadership team
Skills: No experience required – we provide training!
- Must be 18 years or older
- High school diploma or GED required
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
- Ability to work independently and respond in emergency situations
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Compassionate, dependable, and team-oriented
