Create Purpose. Inspire Connection. Enrich Every Moment.

At Aspire Senior Living, we believe meaningful moments matter—especially for those living with dementia. We're seeking a compassionate, patient, and energetic Life Enrichment Assistant who has experience working with individuals living with Alzheimer's disease and other forms of dementia. This role is dedicated to creating purposeful, person-centered experiences that promote comfort, engagement, dignity, and joy for our Memory Care residents.

If you have a passion for memory care and understand how meaningful engagement can improve quality of life, we invite you to join our team.

What You'll Do

Working alongside the Life Enrichment Director, you'll develop and lead engaging daily programs specifically designed to meet the unique cognitive, emotional, physical, and social needs of residents living with memory loss.

Responsibilities include:

  • Lead and assist with person-centered activities designed specifically for residents living with Alzheimer's disease and other forms of dementia.
  • Utilize dementia-specific programming techniques that promote engagement, reduce anxiety, and encourage positive interactions.
  • Build meaningful one-on-one relationships with residents through individualized visits and purposeful engagement.
  • Adapt activities to accommodate each resident's cognitive and physical abilities while celebrating their remaining strengths.
  • Provide sensory stimulation, music, reminiscence, life skills, exercise, and therapeutic activities that support overall well-being.
  • Encourage participation using redirection, validation, encouragement, and other dementia care best practices.
  • Assist residents to and from activities while maintaining a calm, reassuring, and supportive approach.
  • Monitor residents for changes in mood, behavior, or condition and communicate concerns promptly with nursing staff.
  • Assist with community outings and special events while ensuring resident safety and comfort.
  • Document resident participation and responses to activities in Point of Care (POC).
  • Maintain activity supplies and create inviting, dementia-friendly activity spaces.
  • Collaborate closely with caregivers, nursing staff, volunteers, and families to provide meaningful, individualized programming.

The Ideal Candidate

We're looking for someone who:

  • Has previous experience working in a Memory Care, dementia care, assisted living, skilled nursing, or healthcare setting.
  • Understands the unique needs, behaviors, and communication techniques associated with Alzheimer's disease and other dementias.
  • Demonstrates patience, empathy, and compassion in every interaction.
  • Can remain calm, flexible, and positive while supporting residents with varying cognitive abilities.
  • Is creative in adapting activities to meet individual resident needs and interests.
  • Builds trusting relationships with residents and families.
  • Works collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team.
  • Has outstanding customer service and communication skills.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Previous Memory Care or dementia care experience is strongly preferred and highly valued.
  • Experience leading activities for older adults preferred.
  • CNA certification is a plus but not required.
  • Knowledge of person-centered dementia care practices preferred.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
  • Must successfully complete all required pre-employment screenings and meet applicable state and federal training requirements.

Schedule & Flexibility

This position requires flexibility to meet the needs of our residents and community programming.

  • Typical worked hours are between 8:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., with schedules varying based on planned activities and resident needs.
  • Participation in a weekend and holiday rotation is required to ensure residents continue to enjoy meaningful engagement every day of the year.
  • Must be available to work occasional evenings for special events, holiday celebrations, family programs, and other scheduled activities.
  • Flexibility to adjust work hours as needed to support resident activities, community events, and seasonal programming is essential.

Why Join Aspire Senior Living?

Our Memory Care neighborhoods are built on compassion, purpose, and meaningful engagement. We believe every resident deserves opportunities to experience joy, connection, and success—regardless of where they are in their dementia journey.

If you're passionate about creating meaningful moments for individuals living with memory loss and want to make a lasting impact every day, we'd love to hear from you.
