What are the responsibilities and job description for the Day Care Teacher (All Ages Openings) position at Heritage Preschool of Trussville?
Essential Functions
- Ability to maintain classroom control
- Maintain a safe and healthy classroom
- Uphold confidentiality
- Be prepared to take on the role of lead teacher when needed
Daily Tasks
- Build relationships with parents and staff
- Provide a safe and clean environment for the students
- Assist the lead teacher with student supervision in the classroom, common areas and playground
- Actively engage in classroom activities
- Assist the lead teacher with classroom control
- Distribute projects and assignments to each student’s folder
- Assist in the completion of reports as needed (health, incident, accident, daily)
Weekly Tasks
- Make copies of classroom materials
- Inventory each student’s cubby for items needed (clothes, diaper, wipes, etc)
- Assist the lead teacher with lesson plans as needed
- Sanitize cots
- Check classroom equipment and materials to ensure they are in good repair
Monthly Tasks
- Laminate teaching materials as needed
- Assist the lead teacher in updating classroom décor to reflect lessons
- Assist the lead teacher in developing projects/crafts for the month

Physical Demands
The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full or part time position, Monday through Friday and hours vary, depending on campus needs. Extended hours may be necessary as needed to cover staffing during business hours. (Hours may include but are not limited to 8AM-5PM, 9AM-6PM, or 3PM-6PM)
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $11.00 - $13.00 per hour
