Qualifications of an ideal Housekeeping Director:
- Highschool diploma or equivalent
- Ability to lift at least 50 lbs
- First Aid and CPR Certified Preferred
- At least 3 years work experience in a Housekeeping management role in the senior living or hospitality industry
Housekeeping Director Job Summary:
The Housekeeping Director is responsible for directing the staff and overseeing all operations of the Housekeeping department within established quality care and service standards in accordance with federal, state, and local standards.
- Train and orient staff; ensure all Housekeeping protocols and procedures are followed in accordance with established health, hygiene, and appearance policies and regulations (including safety and risk management).
- Coordinate projects; maintain records of all project work completed.
- Manage inventory of Housekeeping supplies, equipment, and materials.
- Schedule and supervise Housekeeping staff
- Conduct routine inspection of building to ascertain cleaning needs.
- Assign work; establish deadlines; evaluate progress and quality of work.
