The Director of Health & Wellness is responsible for the overall leadership, management, and growth of the Club's Health & Wellness Department. This position oversees all fitness programs, group exercise classes, personal training, aquatic fitness, wellness initiatives, fitness facilities, and departmental staff while delivering exceptional member service and promoting healthy lifestyles.

The Director is responsible for creating innovative programming that encourages member participation, enhances the overall member experience, and supports the Club's commitment to excellence.

Position Overview

The Director of Health & Wellness provides leadership for all fitness and wellness operations while creating engaging programs that promote healthy, active lifestyles for Heritage Palms members. This leadership role is responsible for overseeing daily operations, staff, programming, member engagement, and the overall success of the Club's Health & Wellness Department.

What You'll Do

• Lead, mentor, and develop a professional Health & Wellness team while fostering a positive, service-focused culture.
• Plan and oversee a diverse portfolio of fitness classes, personal training, wellness programs, and educational events.
• Manage the daily operations of the Fitness Center and wellness facilities, ensuring a safe, clean, and welcoming environment.
• Collaborate with Club leadership to develop innovative programs that enhance member participation and satisfaction.
• Assist with budgeting, equipment planning, and operational improvements.
• Partner with Marketing & Communications to promote programs through digital and print communications.
• Ensure all wellness programs, instructors, equipment, and facilities meet the highest standards of safety and service.

Qualifications

We're seeking an energetic and engaging leader with a passion for health, wellness, and exceptional member experiences.

The ideal candidate will have: 

• A bachelor's degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Health Promotion, Sports Management, Recreation, or a related field (preferred).
• Three or more years of leadership experience in fitness, wellness, hospitality, private clubs, or resort operations.
• Experience developing fitness programs and wellness initiatives for active adults.
• Nationally recognized fitness certification (ACE, NASM, ACSM, NSCA, AFAA, or equivalent) and current CPR/AED/First Aid certification.
• Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and member service skills.
• Experience managing staff, group exercise programming, budgets, and fitness operations.
• The ability to work in a dynamic environment, demonstrate exercise techniques, and support members both indoors and outdoors.
• Private club, hospitality, resort, or HOA experience is highly preferred.
