Position Summary
The Substance Use Disorder Services (SUDs) Director provides leadership and oversight for the agency’s SUD treatment program in compliance with Washington State Department of Health (DOH) and Behavioral Health Administrative Services Organization (BH-ASO) requirements. This role ensures clinical integrity, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance across all SUD-related services.
The ideal candidate is a licensed or certified professional with demonstrated experience in SUD program administration, clinical supervision, and regulatory compliance. HNWC is looking for an individual to work as a Counselor to start while growing our SUDS program and assisting in the program's development and implementation.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide program oversight for all SUD services offered by Heritage NW Consulting.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable WAC and RCW standards, including WAC 246-341.
- Develop, review, and update SUD-related policies, procedures, and clinical documentation standards.
- Provide clinical supervision and consultation to SUD professionals and staff as required by DOH.
- Oversee quality assurance activities and participate in audits, reviews, and corrective action planning.
- Collaborate with agency leadership to integrate SUD services within the broader behavioral health program.
- Monitor documentation, service delivery, and outcomes to ensure quality and compliance.
- Participate in staff meetings, program development, and multidisciplinary collaboration.
- Serve as the designated point of contact for DOH and other oversight bodies related to SUD services.
Qualifications
Required:
- Must meet Washington State DOH requirements to serve as a Substance Use Disorder Program Director under WAC 246-341-0420.
- Active Substance Use Disorder Professional (SUDP) credential in Washington State.
- Minimum of a master’s degree in behavioral health, psychology, social work, counseling, or related field.
- At least three (3) years of experience in behavioral health and/or SUD treatment settings, including supervisory and administrative experience.
- Dual credentials as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW), or similar.
- Strong knowledge of Washington State behavioral health regulations, documentation standards, and program compliance.
Preferred:
- Full-Time applicants who are interested in providing general mental health counseling services as we grow the SUD program. Part-Time applicants seeking 24 hours a week or more will be considered.
- Experience with integrated behavioral health models and co-occurring disorder treatment.
- Familiarity with managed care and Medicaid documentation requirements.

Pay: $85,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
