About Us

Heritage Medical & Wellness is a patient-centered internal medicine practice focused on providing high-quality, compassionate care. We are seeking an experienced and dependable Front Desk Medical Receptionist to serve as the first point of contact for our patients and support daily office operations.

Position Overview

The Front Desk Receptionist plays a critical role in ensuring a smooth and professional patient experience. This individual will manage front office operations, patient check-in/check-out, insurance verification, communication with patients and staff, along with some other designated tasks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greet and check in patients in a professional and friendly manner
  • Verify patient demographics and insurance eligibility prior to visits
  • Collect copays, balances, and maintain accurate financial records
  • Schedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments
  • Answer and route incoming calls, respond to patient inquiries
  • Maintain organized front desk workflow and documentation
  • Coordinate with clinical staff to ensure efficient patient flow
  • Utilize eClinicalWorks (eCW) for patient management and documentation
  • Handle scanning, faxing, and uploading documents into patient charts
  • Ensure HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality at all times

Qualifications & Requirements

  • 2–5 years of medical office front desk experience (required)
  • Bilingual (Spanish preferred)
  • Strong experience with insurance verification and eligibility checks
  • Familiarity with insurance portals (BCBS, Aetna, Medicare, etc.)
  • Experience with eClinicalWorks (eCW) strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of copays, deductibles, and coinsurance collection
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Dependable, punctual, and team-oriented

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with prior authorizations (a plus)
  • Understanding of basic medical terminology
  • Familiarity with billing workflows and patient statements
  • Ability to handle high call volumes efficiently
