What are the responsibilities and job description for the Production/Office Assistant position at Heritage Meats?

Small butcher shop looking for a strong Administrative Assistant to support our production crew and our General Manager. We are looking for someone who is motivated, and a team player. This position will be helping to ensure production is running smoothly between departments, if shorthanded, willingness to jump in and help out. Lots of moving parts, so quick thinking on your feet is a must. Food handlers card will be required within 30 days of employment start. Must be proactive and self starter, quick learner with a positive attitude. Great with customers as a major role will be helping out in retail. This position has a small amount of office work, with most of the work being on our production floor.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administrative Support: Provide support to General Manager and employees by assisting in daily office needs and managing general administrative activities.
  • Production Support: Be able to lift 50 lbs. Learn each department of our production floor and be able to step in. Able to go into containers and freezers on their own.
  • Communication: Answer phone calls, help greet visitors, and handle correspondence to ensure effective communication within the office.
  • Scheduling: Manage calendars and schedule appointments as needed.
  • Document Management: Prepare reports, maintain filing systems, and ensure easy access to information.
  • Office Management: Monitor inventory levels, order office supplies, and maintain a clean and organized workspace.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Communication Skills: Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential for interacting with team members and clients.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in office software (e.g., MS Office Suite) and office equipment.
  • Attention to Detail: Detail-oriented approach to ensure accuracy in tasks and documentation.
  • Experience: Previous experience as an Administrative Assistant or in a similar role is preferred.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $19.00 - $20.00 per hour
