Dietary Aide/Cook

Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dietary Cook to join our team in providing nutritious and delicious meals for our residents. The ideal candidate will have experience in food preparation and handling within a hospital or assisted living environment. This role is essential in ensuring that dietary needs are met while maintaining high standards of food quality and safety.

Duties

• Prepare and cook meals according to established recipes and dietary guidelines.
• Ensure all food is prepared in compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Assist in menu planning, taking into account the nutritional needs of residents.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and dining areas.
• Collaborate with the dietary department to accommodate special dietary requests.
• Buss tables and assist with serving meals as needed.
• Monitor inventory levels of food supplies and report shortages to management.
• Participate in training sessions and adhere to best practices in food service.

Skills

• Proven experience in food preparation within a hospital, assisted living, or similar environment.
• Knowledge of food handling techniques and safety regulations.
• Strong time management skills to ensure timely meal preparation and service.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team within the dietary department.
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with staff, residents, and families.
• Familiarity with dietary aide responsibilities is a plus.
• A passion for providing quality service in the food industry.
