Heritage House is looking for a dynamic Sever to join our culinary department!
This position is ideal for individuals who want to enhance the dining experience for the seniors that reside at our community.
PRN- As needed (16 hours a month required)
Shifts vary
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation and serving of meals to patients/residents in a healthcare setting.
- Follow dietary restrictions and guidelines provided by healthcare professionals.
- Ensure that food is prepared and served in a safe and sanitary manner.
- Clean and sanitize work areas, dishes, utensils, and equipment.
- Assist with inventory management and restocking of supplies.
- Provide excellent customer service to patients/residents and their families.
Experience:
- Previous experience in a food service or kitchen environment is preferred.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong time management skills to ensure meals are prepared and served on schedule.
- Experience working in a hospital or nursing home setting is a plus.
Skills:
- Excellent customer service skills to interact with patients/residents and their families.
- Ability to follow instructions and adhere to dietary restrictions.
- Basic knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen equipment.
- Strong communication skills to effectively communicate with team members and supervisors.
- Ability to work as part of a team and collaborate with others.
Please note that this position may require standing for long periods of time, lifting heavy objects, and working in a hot kitchen environment. The schedule may include weekends, evenings, and holidays.
